Kasey, Brandon, Henry and I went to Strange Adventures today, an awesome comic book store in Halifax. I was stoked to find this gem, a collection of Kate or Die comics by Halifax artist Kate Leth. I can’t believe I just learned today that she actually works there; I’ve been following her blog, kateordie.tumblr.com, for quite some time now.

Tequila sunrise and tequila shots and drunk friends and massages and Brandon’s panda shirt. Last night was great.

I had a wonderful weekend with some wonderful people, and also this stuffed elephant.

I got this the other day at a wonderful store called Venus Envy. Cunt: A Declaration of Independence by Inga Muscio is a book I’ve been wanting to read for quite a long time now. I’m not even halfway through it yet and I’m already amazed, inspired, amused, and aware that this is one of those books that will change your life. I feel more empowered, capable, and connected to women everywhere.

I’m surrounded by guys almost all of the time, and I’m growing more and more nostalgic for the unique connection you can only have with another woman. There’s an awful kind of loneliness that hovers, no matter what I’m doing or who I’m with. I need that sense of understanding and acceptance; liberating and thrilling conversations about our bodies and the shame and the standards and the confusion and the gratitude for the marvelous things of which they’re capable. I need honest and creatively charged conversations about desires, rage, fears and the art that comes alive as the result of it all.
